ALL ST. LANDRY PARISH PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO DISMISS EARLY TODAY
May 18, 2021
OPELOUSAS, LA -- Due to forecasted precipitation causing possible hazardous road conditions and widespread flooding parish-wide, all schools and head start centers will dismiss early today, May 18, 2021. The overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the early dismissal of schools.
Dismissal times are as follows:
SLATS/Alternative - 1:30 PM;
MACA/BioMed - 1:40 PM;
High School/Junior High - 2:00 PM;
Head Start - 2:00 PM;
North Central/Palmetto - 2:00 PM;
Elementary/Middle Schools - 2:20 PM - 2:40 PM (This is dependent on bus arrival from first routes.);
*Car riders should contact the school for pick-up times.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the closing of schools.

Staff Appreciation Week Day 4: “It’s such a treat to have you on staff, take a break and enjoy these sweets!” Special thanks to Our Savior’s Church for providing the staff with Lunch. We also have to thank everyone who contributed to the “Sweets Bar”.
Congratulations to Mrs. C. Derouen on the completion of her first semester of the Oxford Teachers Academy with Reach University. SLP is proud to have a cohort of Support Personnel who are working on become teachers.

The majority of Virtual Learning Academy students are ready for pick up. The only students who are still testing are those who arrived late this morning.

Today is the final day to register for Camp Accelerate. This camp will also serve as summer school for students who do not meet criteria for promotion.

As they leave school today and Friday, April 30, each student will be given two lunch meals for the weekend. Please note that some items are perishable. Frozen items will need to be properly stored in a freezer and cold foods/beverages should be placed in the refrigerator in order to maintain food safety and quality.
The deadline to sign up for Camp Accelerate is Friday, April 23. This will also serve as summer school for students who do not meet criteria for promotion.
